The Story Behind Our Name
The Garnette Collective was named in honor of Garnette, the grandmother whose unwavering love, quiet strength, and constant encouragement shaped the life of our founder.
Garnette believed that the greatest gift you could offer another person was your presence. She showed up through life's celebrations and hardships alike, offering wisdom without judgment, comfort without conditions, and support without hesitation. Her home was a place of warmth, acceptance, and resilience—a place where people felt safe simply being themselves.
As a grandmother, she modeled compassion, perseverance, and the importance of caring for others while never losing sight of your own worth. She was a steady source of strength, inspiring confidence during life's most difficult moments and reminding those she loved that they were never alone.
The Garnette Collective was founded to carry her legacy forward. Just as Garnette created a space where her granddaughter felt deeply loved, understood, and empowered, we strive to create that same experience for every client and every clinician who walks through our doors. Whether we are providing outpatient therapy or mentoring the next generation of social workers through clinical supervision, our work is grounded in the values she embodied every day: authenticity, compassion, resilience, and unwavering support.
Her legacy lives on in every conversation, every act of care, and every life touched by The Garnette Collective.
